For those that actually bought it, Okami HD will also support the Playstation Move, which all in all should be interesting. While I’m not a big fan of the PS Move, using it to control the paint brush will either be awesome or super fail. The game will also have full Trophy and Dualshock 3 support.

So if you any of you missed Clover Studios swan song and one of the best games on PS2, this is your best chance.

The most interesting tidbit is that the game is between 12 and 28 hours long depending on your playstyle. Traditionally that’s pretty short for a Bethesda game, or they could just  be playing coy. Either only time will tell.

Even if Rebellion does not require the original Sins, it’s a game series I highly recommend you purchase if you haven’t already. It takes elements that are normally reserved for turn-based 4X games and manages to adapt them to a real-time format.

10.) Grand Theft Auto V

The latest in Rockstar’s crime saga, Grand Theft Auto V, was finally announced back in October of 2011. Then shortly after that we received our first debut trailer in November and all signs pointed to go. While sources had indicated that there would be no demo of GTAV at E3, the fact that it was NOWHERE to be seen was quite odd. Not a hint, not a mention, not even another sneak peek. Given the track record of the series we can assume it’ll be good, but they are sure making the wait hard.

9.) Legend of Zelda Wii U

This one really should be no surprise. Nintendo all to often loves to tease Link as their example of next-gen graphics. And the Wii U version was no different. After teasing some sweet HD Link at last year’s E3, there was no mention of a future Legend of Zelda at all. Given how recently Skyward Sword came out its truly no surprise, but to tease their biggest franchise and then not speak of it again is infuriating.

8.) Bioshock Infinite

The next game in the Bioshock franchise has created quite the buzz. It was crowned best in show at E3 2011 and landed on the cover of several gaming magazines. So what did they show off at this year’s E3? Not a damn thing. After it was announced that the game was being pushed back to a 2013 launch the whole game seemed to go on lockdown. No new information, no screenshots, no nothing. One can only hope and assume that this silence just means they’re working on making it the best game ever. Right?

7.) Ryse

Back at E3 2011 Microsoft was trying to show off all the different ways you could use the Kinect. Ryse seemed to be the answer for why hardcore gamers should care about motion gaming on the Xbox. While the trailer was mostly CG it did promise to have plenty of blood and violence by the hands of a Roman soldier. Yet this year there was not one single mention of Crytek’s hardcore Kinect game. Not even a blip while they were talking about exclusive games. Microsoft needs to talk about games like Ryse if they truly want to cement the Kinect.

6.) Agent

Rockstar North’s PS3 exclusive, Agent, is starting to look more and more like vaporware with each passing day. Announced back at E3 2009, Agent sounded like the kind of PS3 exclusive that would sell systems and launch Playstation out of third place. Three years later we still know nothing about the game other than the fact that Rockstar and Sony has commented numerous times at how groundbreaking it was going to be. However someone needs to remind them that for something to be groundbreaking, it has to actually come out.

5.) Final Fantasy Versus 13

Final Fantasy Versus 13 has officially replaced Duke Nukem Forever on the “Longest Running Game to Show Up At E3 And Not Be Playable List”. While there has been some closed-door showings of the game and leaked trailers, nothing solid has been offered in years. At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to see this end up on the next generation instead. Or at worse cancelled. But with only the Final Fantasy X HD remake on the books, it’s hard to imagine what would stop this game from being shown off in the near future.

4.) Kingdom Hearts 3

It’s actually no surprise that Kingdom Hearts 3 hasn’t been shown at E3. While there is no doubt that a sequel SHOULD be made, the question is if and when. Unfortunately producer Tetsuya Nomura has gone on record saying that there will be no Kingdom Hearts 3 until Final Fantasy Versus 13 was released. And well just refer to number 5 on the list.

3.) Beyond Good And Evil 2

Teased in 2008, talked about in 2009 and 2010 and 2011, Beyond Good and Evil 2 has become the urban legend of Ubisoft. The last we heard about the series it was indicated that it was getting pushed to the next generation of games. Its absence from yet another E3 just goes to highlight that that may indeed be the case.

2.) The Last Guardian

The first official trailer was shown at E3 2009 much to the pleasure of Ico/Shadow of the Colossus fans. Later on at TGS that year the game was given an unofficial release date of fall 2012. However later on the release date was pushed back to an even further vague “Sometime in 2013″. Then the director, Fumito Ueda, left Sony and only retained a consultant status on the project. Now with another E3 come and gone The Last Guardian was once again MIA. All that was mentioned was that the game was having ‘technical difficulties” but was still in development.

Possibility of E3 2013 Appearance: Assuming It Doesn’t Leap A Generation, Likely

1.) Half-Life 3/Episode 3

Half-Life 2 and the Tale of the Episodes is one of great expectation and fail. When Valve announced that they would release three episodes instead of a proper sequel, it was stressed that this was to REDUCE the time between releases. Half-Life 2: Episode 1 was released in June 2006, Episode 2 in October 2007 and yet we are STILL waiting for the final episode 5 years later. At this point fans can only assume (hope) that the huge delay is due to a whole new game rather than another 3-4 hour episode. But with Valve having published a Portal sequel, two Left 4 Dead’s, Dota and a new Counterstrike in the time since Episode 2 it’s not as if the company hasn’t been busy.

Possibility of E3 2013, 2015, 2020 Appearance: Maybe

Given how well the music has been in all the previous Persona games, one can easily assume that the next iteration will be no exception.

Persona 4 Arena arrives on Xbox 360 and Playstation on August 7th.

In a strange way Mr. Scott makes the viewer very much like Mr. Weyland. I admit, somehow I misplaced the gobs of money that Mr. Weyland has but, I wanted answers. Peter Weyland’s ultimate goal was to change the world. His dying wish is to understand why and how we came in to being, something that, were he to find out, would shape and reshape life more than any other technology we could ever imagine. He is not alone in wondering where we have come from, what our purpose is. Though it could very easily be said that this movie is 100 percent about man’s greedy search for meaning, I didn’t want to go down that path.  I didn’t want to heap heavy meanings on a movie that had only just been released. Sure, the original had all sorts of symbolism and meaning, but I hadn’t wanted to lay the gravity of all that down, 15 minutes in. I wanted to take this movie in as a science fiction gem,  I had my own questions and I wanted to believe that this movie had answers for me.

It was already too late.

Prometheus was presented perfectly. It assumed the audiences intelligence as high, even as David licked his tongue and touched an access panel that could only be activated by his saliva. The tone was evident from the beginning. This was Mr. Scott’s picture. His homage to the first Alien was quaint and for any fan, nostalgic. The android David walks around an empty ship as the lights come up, just like the opening scenes of the Nostromo in Alien. Even the ending has a similar, not-quite-safe sequence.

I suppose that There should be a little background, right? Going in to this film unprepared might be a little jarring. If you don’t know what you are getting in to then, you probably won’t appreciate the end product. The fact that this was an Alien prequel was widespread and should be well-known. As soon as the character for Mr. Weyland was announcing his intentions at the TED talks about changing the world, it was fairly obvious.

For fans of that franchise, this movie had a lot of interesting topics. I won’t give too much away but suffice it to say that this one is truly about beginnings. At the start of the film a muscular, pale, almost albino man sacrifices himself by drinking what looks like an oxidizing metal substance that tears his DNA apart. His DNA reforms with the help of water, a life-giving medium and were are to believe that all life on earth has come from this event.

That event shapes the rest of the story. The main plot arc of which is that a couple of scientists have found images referring to a star map of some sort from different time periods in Human history. They all have the same pattern of stars and so with the technology presented to the, they find the gathering of stars that are indicated and make their way to the. Presumably they are under the impression that the ones who left the star map are creators of all life and actually want to be found.

Interesting thought, not so much of a reality.

Much of the action that is predicated by the advertising campaign is pretty low-key. By that I mean it happens and then it’s done. There is not a lingering sense of violence around every corner. Of course there are parts where suspense is prevalent but you don’t feel like aliens will burst through everyone chest at every turn of the film. As a matter of fact there is not even one green egg that slowly opens only to reveal its precious face-hugging cargo.

Mr. Scott truly had original ideas for this film. He does not dwell on his past, and instead takes what worked for him and for the franchise previously and reshaped it, gives it legs, starts at the beginning and shows us the very stark beginnings of the race movie-goers began to fear years ago.

However, logistical questions linger and remain. You want to know a little bit more about this overly muscular, creator race, you want to understand why their own creations, if indeed they are such things, produce such heinous effects when combined with their DNA.

It is suggested by one of the characters in an off-handed scene that these ‘creators’ have created something like a super-biological weapon and that their means of delivering it is to drop a ship in to an atmosphere unload canisters that oxidize and destroy and reform life. Within the frame-work of the movie and the universe that does make sense. However, since we don’t have any real clue as to what the creators want to do, other than create, that one attempt at figuring them out doesn’t seem adequate.

There are more circumstances such as this that serve to take away from the film when thought about. The bottom line however is that Prometheus entertained. It did so with an intelligence reserved generally for drama while maintaining a sense science fiction danger.
