While Final Fantasy XIV is digging its way back out the hole with its upcoming 2.0 release, its predecessor continues to chug away. The upcoming expansion, titled Seekers of Adoulin, will introduce two new classes to the world: Geomancer and Rune Fencer. This marks the first expansion to the game in almost six years. One can’t help but question if the expansion is due to the failure’s of what was suppose to be its replacement, Final Fantasy XIV.
Other key features of FINAL FANTASY XI: Seekers of Adoulin will include:
- The additions of the Ulbuka Continent and the Sacred City of Adoulin that further expand on the FINAL FANTASY XI storyline;
- New and stronger monsters throughout the areas that span the Ulbuka Continent; and
- New gameplay systems such as player-built outposts, new contract work, and the introduction of special “power spots” that are hidden throughout the environment for powerful character enhancements.
This is certainly great news for any Final Fantasy XI fan, though the release will not be until sometime in 2013.
