There Was Almost A Legend of Dragoon 2

Along with the announcement of Legend of Dragoon coming to PSN comes an interesting tidbit from producer Shu Yoshida.

Legend of Dragoon 2 almost happened.

In a post from Playstation Blog Shu Yoshida reminisces about what it was like back when his team was working on Legend of Dragoon and in the process drops an interesting tidbit.

“I still occasionally hear from fans of The Legend of Dragoon, and many want to know if there is a sequel. LOD2 was put into preproduction after I left the Japan Studio, but was eventually cancelled for some unknown reason, and the team members moved on to different projects. Some people still work in the Japan Studio, so we talk about the memories of developing LOD when we see each other at company functions.“

An interesting tidbit indeed. Makes me wonder why over the years Sony hasn’t tried to resurrect the series. It’s one of those games where even if someone hasn’t played it, they’ve at least heard of it.

Hey Sony, now would be a good time to use that Kickstarter thingy. I heard its popular or something.
